Ready or not here she comes!

Just wanted to share some of the cute clothes that are already in McKinley’s closet. We may be in trouble since she is the first granddaughter on both our sides. I know she will never be lacking in clothes to wear. This is a picture of our 3 favorite outfits so far.
Thanks Mamaw and Papaw Cutshaw.
As Andy and I prepare for McKinley to join us in March, we are preparing her nursery as well as our lives to be parents and join all the other parents. We made a huge step into parenthood this weekend. Andy had a Mitsubishi Eclipse since he was in high school. The thought of putting McKinley into the back of what Andy and I affectionately call the “Red Rocket” makes us cringe. God is definitely faithful and teaching us a lot about His character through all the changes in our lives. We got back from Thanksgiving with the thought of needing to do something about a new car before the end of the year. God has perfect timing and we had taken the Eclipse in to get serviced and it was going to cost $300 or so to maybe fix and oil leak that has been there for quite some time. Not wanting to put more money into the car, Andy and I went car shopping on Sunday after Thanksgiving. Now the weather was nasty and rainy – not the day you wanted to be out car shopping – not that you really want to do that any day. But we knew the Lord was going to take care of us – and of course He did. We are now the proud owners of a 2004 Honda Odyssey minivan – can you say “Welcome to parenthood” We made a major trade from a red sports car to a minivan but we love it. I was driving to work yesterday and just laughed at the reality “I am driving a minivan.” Andy and I are really excited about all the space – my favorite feature so far is the automatic opening back doors – I don’t even have a child to carry in a car seat but it is already a great feature for my stuff to and from school. And if you come visit us – we will have plenty of space for 6 people to go out on the town

Well, I am not sure we would be excited about a picture like this of McKinley out of the womb but in the womb, it is great! That way, we know it is a girl. The ultrasound tech said that her 2 legs are in the shape of a V turned to the left. She said there was nothing in the middle so it must be a girl. We are so excited to finally know and be able to share the news with everyone. Thanks for waiting for the news. We love you all.
So just wanted to give you a picture update of Baby Thurman’s progress so far. Even as newly weds – way before Andy and I were ready to even think about starting a family – I have several stories of students of mine asking if I was pregnant and even some adults. My response would be – “No, I just have a belly”. Well now, I have a belly and it is a cute belly because there is a little baby growing inside of it. The 19 weeks picture is from this week and it is the most current picture we have. Hope you all enjoy!
